Summary: Founded in 2010 by Greg Lepp after he encountered firsthand the difficulty of collecting tuition payments at a private university, Rotessa was created to help small businesses get paid more easily and has since grown into a trusted payment platform serving thousands of businesses across Canada and the U.S. without raising venture capital. As Rotessa marks its 15th anniversary, it reflects on steady, intentional growth and looks ahead to new services planned for 2026, aiming to continue supporting small businesses in a calm, collaborative, and purpose-driven way.

Who we are

In 2010, Rotessa founder Greg Lepp faced the challenge of collecting tuition payments at a private university. Recognizing the need for a better solution, he launched Rotessa to help small business owners streamline how they get paid. Since then, Rotessa has grown into a trusted platform used by thousands of businesses across Canada and the U.S. —without ever raising venture capital.

We’re proud of the product we’ve built, but even more proud of the team, the culture, and the relationships that have come with it,” says Lepp. “Building a company with my business partner, Andrew, that supports families, makes work enjoyable, and serves other small businesses – it’s been really rewarding.

That team now includes more than 20 people working out of the company’s headquarters in Steinbach, Manitoba. Granted, it is not the usual setting for a SaaS company, but one that reflects Rotessa’s grassroots, people-first approach. “It’s rare to see a software company like ours in the middle of the prairies,” says Lepp. “But we’ve always believed that good work and good people matter more than location.

“Team first” is more than just a value at Rotessa; it’s a guiding principle and a reminder that relationships matter. Many of the company’s longest-standing clients have developed strong, ongoing connections with the team. One customer, Chad from LiveCA, has visited the office with his family while travelling across Canada in an RV trailer. On his first visit, Rotessa’s parking lot became their overnight campsite.

As Rotessa celebrates 15 years, the company not only looks back with pride, but also ahead with purpose. “There are other problems we can help small businesses solve,” says Lepp. “But we’ll keep doing it our way – calmly, intentionally, and together.” While details remain under wraps, the team hints that exciting new services are on the horizon. These new offerings, set to launch in 2026, will further support the small business community Rotessa was built to serve.
